Toucan set up a new service centre in Limburg

The Toucan brand name is owned by IDT Corporation, an American company quoted on the stock exchange. IDT is active internationally in telecom, entertainment and technology. During the last two years Toucan has been providing telecom services in the United Kingdom, where it already has 150,000 customers.
In the Netherlands Toucan stands for simple and cheap telephony for an all-in monthly rate. Toucan subscribers can take advantage of unlimited regional and national phone calls, and of very advantageous tariffs for international calls and those to mobile telephones. Everyone in The Netherlands with a KPN land line can use ToucanTalk and keep his own telephone, line and number.
Toucan plans to roll out its services on a regional basis, beginning in Haarlem. The choice of locating the customer service centre in Limburg is based on the multilingual talents of the local population and the proximity to the Belgian market. Toucan expects – with an eye on expanding its activities – to be able to recruit Flemish and French speaking Belgians relatively easily.
During its setting up process, Toucan is being supported by NV Industriebank LIOF, which has also brought in the Mammoet group, a collaborative organisation with the emphasis on training and recruitment for customer service centers. LIOF is naturally pleased with Toucan’s choice for Limburg. The quality of the business climate for establishing this sort of activity is confirmed once again and if Toucan’s plans are realised, this will provide the perspective of 150 new jobs in Limburg.
